PostSubject: The First Classroom   The First Classroom Icon_minitimeFri Aug 15, 2008 11:09 am

It was an amphitheatral room with large windows, which lit it brightly. The lecturer's desk was at the bottom of the vast hall and there was a blackboard with pieces of chalk next to it, drawings of alchemic circles always present on the black surface. The lecturer was a middle-aged man with a long trench coat and a stern look plastered on his face. Despite his appearance he was a kind and understanding person, always ready to help the students that deserved his tips and admiration. This classroom was used for learning how to draw Alchemy circles.

Lira quietly knocked on the door and opened it, to enter first of the three twins. The girl saw the teacher and bowed politely towards him, asking for permission to sit. Meanwhile, her eyes were roaming the surroundings.

Just after Lira had hesitantly entered, Revi stormed in roughly and loudly, not bothering for a permission to sit whatsoever. But before she sat herself at the very front, she bowed her head at the lecturer's direction, signalizing her respect towards him. The phoenix sat with her back straight, her hands neatly folded on the desk before her. Even though she was dying for a smoke, the raven-haired young woman decided against it, since they were in tha Academy's grounds. She patiently awaited the arrival of their third sister, while looking unenthustiacally around the room.

Kylie, who had somehow ended up being the last one to reach the classroom opened the door and only poked her head in to check if it was the right one. Spotting her sisters she placed a big grin on her face and entered, bowing just slightly at the lecturer and hurrying to a random seat in the room. She then leaned forward in her seat and looked towards the lecturer with excitement written all over her face. She was so glad that she would finally start to study Alchemy that she could hardly keep herself still. ‘This is for you, Antony! I’ll graduate from this place as soon as possible and find you! You just watch!’

The lecturer looked bewildered towards the three twins, before scratching his head a little and checking a list he had.

“You three must be the Phoenix twins, right? Very well, let us begin now. In this class you will learn to draw proper Alchemy circles and draw them fast. Drawing them is more or less everything we’ll be doing in here. So now, let’s begin with a simple circle for beginners,” the man took out four pieces of chalk and drew a shape on the board. “Come here and try to redraw the circle, all of you.” With those words he moved away from the board and watched the girls.

"May I?" And not waiting for an answer, Lira went to the board and got the chalk carefully. "That is just like drawing the blueprints for my traps! So cool!" The girl first looked carefully at the sample on the board. It was nothing complicated, really. Just a circle and a square in it, but she had to be careful to keep the proportions.
The chalk rose to the level of her eyes, as her hand steadily started to draw first the circle, than the square inside it. When she was ready, Lira turned to look at the teacher with a shy look in her eyes.

Eager, Kylie almost ran to the board and grabbed the chalk. This was what she was waiting for! The most important studies of her life were starting now. Her eyes were practically shining with determination and happiness.

The girl carefully studied the circle already drown on the board. She did her best to remember it properly since it was probably going to be needed in later studies. She thought of possible ways of doing it first and after a few seconds she drew the circle first and after that the sides of the rhomb, drawing the two perpendicular ones first and then the other two. With that she looked at her achievement and waited for comments from the lecturer.

Revi casually rose from her seat and went to the board. She grabbed a piece of chalk and after that she looked at the circle. The blackhead carefully studied its lines, though they weren't that complicated on first sight. If she were able to keep her arm steady, she would be able to do it properly in one of her first tries.
The hand of the girl repeated in the air the lines that had been drawn on the board and finally let the tip of the chalk touch the surface of the black wood. First she draw the circle, trying to make it look like one as much as she could, knowing that that would come through practice. When the raven-haired young woman was finished with that, she started drawing the lines of the square, her hand sliding steadily. After she added the last line, she backed off and looked at her "creation", silently waiting for their teacher's comment.

The man eyed Lira's first, considering the shape carefully, before saying:
"You should concentrate more on carefully making the circle, its outline was quite jagged. The lines inside don't look even enough and most certainly don't have a 90 degrees angle between them. Concentrate more on that the next time"

He then stopped at Revi's and after a few seconds of thought said to hr:
"Yours is better, but it's a little more like an ellipse. The figure inside is like a rectangle, try to make the sides more equal. But It's quite good for a first try."

The man next looked at Kylie's doing and a thoughtful look appeared on his face.
"Hmm..." he began, "good, good, try again and this time make sure you do the circle more round and the square's lines more straight. Otherwise, good job."

The redhead smiled at him, before turning towards the board and erasing what she had just dome. ‘All right, let’s do it!’ She carefully studied the circle one last time, before carefully sliding the piece of chalk in the needed round way. Drawing a circle had never been as easy as it sounded and she had always known this is going to be the hardest thing in the beginning. ‘But it will become easier with practice, I just know it!’ Once she reached the beginning of the circle, the girl tried to divide it into four parts within her mind, deciding where to draw the lines. Doing her best to keep her hand from shaking, she traced the image from inside her head on the board and then waited for the lecturer’s words.

Lira blushed a bit and quickly grabbed the chalk again. She thought how to draw it more accurately, when an idea came to her. She quickly looked around the room in search of a round object. A roll of tape was lying on the teacher's deck, so the black-reddish haired girl focused on it. She tried to remember the shape and print it in her mind. After a few seconds, she turned her gaze back to the board and started drawing the sphere again. This time, the image of the tape seemed to appear on the board in glowing outlines and the girl just repeated them with the chalk. Than, she marked the circle at four places - each two of them, opposite to one-another. Than, Lira linked them with lines, as straight as possible and looked at her creation. After making some final corrections, she turned to the teacher, waiting for his reply.

'Okay... maybe I should pay a little bit more attention to what I'm doing,' the blackhead observed her unsuccessful attempt. She was bound to learn after her mistakes, so she grabbed again the chalk and observed the properly drawn Alchemic circle once again.
Revi gripped the chalk in her hand and started drawing on the board after she had erased her previous attempt. Being more careful this time, the raven-haired girl did the circle as accurate as she could, trying to master its proper shape. When her circle was done, she didn't waste more time as she continued with the square inside it. The Phoenix measured the proportions with cautions before she drew the second line and the two after it. Being ready with her task, she stepped back and looked towards the lecturer.

The lecturer observed the three girls as they were drawing and then turned first towards Revi:
"It's a little better than the first time, the circle's almost perfect. You'd need another try. Otherwise it's pretty good."

Then his eyes fell on Lira's and after some consideration, he said to her:
The circle is fine, but you shouldn't mark it when you're doing the lines. It takes more time and that leaves marks on it afterwards. Try it again without marking."

The lecturer studied Kylie's circle and smiled.
"Okay, do it once again, so that you can better its shape. You did a fine job, Ms. Phoenix, just try one more time."

"Right! I'll do it properly this time!" said Lira more to herself than to the teacher and grabbed the chalk. While closing her eyes, the girl recalled the image of the circle in her mind. Then she imagined putting a square inside it and stayed focused on the "picture" for another moment. Suddenly snapping her eyes open, the blue-eyed girl, started carefully drawing down the circle first. Lira found out to be easier for her to do it properly after the practice with the previous ones.
When she was ready with the sphere, she continued drawing the square. This time its linings were bright enough (in her mind), for her to draw it, without markings. The girl first drew the opposite lines, than the other ones, paying special attention to the corners. Finally, she stepped aside for the teacher to see her creation.

'I guess I need to fucs more on the circle, than on the square...' Revi recalled the lecturer's words. She observed her attempt, then the man's circle and she compared the two figures. It was nothing difficult, but those were the basics she had to learn in order to succeed. The raven-haired girl erased her second try and looked once again at the proper Alchemic cirlcle in order to complete her task properly this time.
She slid the chalk on the surface of the board, her hand swiftly moving steadily and carefully. The Phoenix finished the round figure and backed off a little bit, wondering on how she should position the square inside it. She marked the spots with small little visible dots and conected them with straight lines. The blue eyed young woman stepped back again and threw a glance towards the lecturer, waiting for his comment.

The redhead smiled back at the lecturer and nodded, before turning towards the board with newfound determination. 'I'm almost there! I just need to do it perfectly this time. Here goes something!' She quickly erased her previous attempt at making the circle and clenching the piece of chalk in her hand she looked at the lecturer's perfect circle. Her ruby eyes followed every line, redrawing it time after time in her mind, so that she wouldn't misplace the square or twist it in some way. Then Kylie's attention was brought towards the empty board in front of her and she rose the chalk towards it. When it connected to the board she slided it slowly and carefully over the black suffice, eying the line it left behind. When she reached the beginning of it, she pulled the chalk back only to reconnect it to the board at the highest place of the circle in order to draw the first line. Done with that, the young woman drew the one perpendicular to it, before connecting the ends of the two lines with the last touches to the circle. With that she stepped a little to the side and impatiently waited for the lecturer's comments.

The lecturer took longer to consider the circles than he had until then, but in the end he smiled and said:
"Very well, very well, I guess this is enough for your first lesson. All three of you properly, congratulations."

"Yupiiiiii!" cheers
Lira jumped in the air with joy and hugged Revi, who was just next to her. The girl then bowed again to the teacher and smiled.
"By the way, sisters, I intend to find a job, because I'm pretty short on change. See you later in the room!" And the girl whirled and disappeared behind the classroom door.

Kylie was on the edge to do the same thing, but only laughed out loud with happiness and bowed towards the lecturer:
"Thank you very much for the lesson, Mr.," with that she turned towards the remaining oldest sister and said: "Well I'm off for an assignment, I think that would be pretty helpful right about now. Later."
And with those words the hyper young woman ran out of the room and down the halls of the Academy.

Revi was ready to hit Lira when she had jumped at her, but decided that she wouldn't like to leave her little sister with mental traumas bigger than she already obviously had. The raven-haired girl stood up, bowed her head in gratitude towards the lecturer, put her chair into its palce and exited the room, wondering if her two excuses of siblings would find jobs that would suit their current abilities.
